April & the Woolly Bugger
A flyfishing adventure by Rich and Marny Sumrall
Our infatuation with fly fishing motivated us to share the magic of this growing sport with young readers. April and the Woolly Bugger depicts a girl’s adventure to catch (and recatch) the big one, with the help of her trusty (ugly duckling) fly, “Mr. Woolly Bugger.”
This project is a completed 38 page illustrated picture book, appropriate for ages 6 through 11 years. Rich originally designed the illustrations and typography for letterpress printing. The first edition of 100 letter pressed, artisan-bound books generated enthusiasm for the unique theme and illustrative style. We are interested in publishing this story for a mainstream audience.
